John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado who specialized in folk-pop music touched the hearts of millions. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico he fell in love with Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's songs that he sang about his new home state drew many tourists to Colorado. G. Brown of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declares the fact that John Denver is unlike any other artist who embodies Colorado. Denver became the one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. To many, Denver is the symbol of Colorado. You meet people in different countries, such as New Zealanders, and they say "I come from Colorado" then they react with "Oh John Denver. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a solo artist after having worked within small Folk Music groups. The song was composed in collaboration with Bill Danoff. Danoff composed the track in the spirit of Johnny Cash, but Denver was able to hear an early version of the song and realized the song would be one of the Top 10 hits. The song was performed in Washington D.C. to a massive crowd, Denver made a recording a few days afterward.
